What are the AVID trips?

  • The AVID trips are a scheduled guided trip for 10 or more students, Any student who is at least a senior in high school may join. You will have pre-booked activities, tours or excursions that are included in the price, as well as optional excursions that are not mandatory, but recommended. It is also the travelers responsibility to ensure their arrival to airports and meeting points on time for departure. 

What is the Deposit?

The deposit is to guarantee you a spot on your selected AVID trip.

Is the deposit extra?

No, all deposit payments go towards the total cost of the trip.

How long after I request a quote will i receive a response?

You will receive a price quote within 48 hours. All quotes are valid for 72 hours.

I'm on an AVID Trip. When will I know my flight and hotel information?

All the flight and hotel information will be emailed to the email provided at check out no later than 60 days before Departure date.

Can I join an avid trip late?

  • Yes you can!

  • All "AVlD Trips" signups less than 100 days before departure are subject to a minimum $400 late registration fee (fee is based on flight availability)

I'm on a payment plan, can I change the payment method?

Yes, you can change your payment method at any time. We accept VISA, Master Card, Discover and American Express. If you would like to change your payment method, please contact us contact@goodlandtravel.com


Can I pay the remaining balance of my payment plan early?

Yes, If you would like to opt out of the payment plan and pay the remaining balance early. Please contact us at contact@goodlandtravel.com and we will send you a separate invoice with the remaining balance.

Do you offer travel insurance?

At this point, we do not offer travel insurance. We strongly urge travelers to get travel insurance through a third party. We are currently working on a partnership with travel insurance companies.

What happens if my avid trip doesn't meet it minimum number of travelers?

In the event that your AVID trip is does not meet the minimum required number of travelers. You will have two options: â€‹

  1. Join a different AVID trip. Any payments you have made will be applied to the new one.

    • If your trip was paid in full and was more expensive than the second option. You will be refunded the difference within 7 business days.

  2. Full Refund​

What if I missed a flight, train, cruise, bus or shuttle?

Unfortunately, it is the travelers responsibility  to acquire other means of transportation at the travelers expense if a flight, train, bus or boat is missed.

What if my trip gets cancelled?

If a trip is cancelled by Goodland Travel due to powers outside of our control. We will notify you with trip options:

  1. Change the trip

  2. Full Refund

Standard Refund Policy:

0-30 days after deposit is made:

  • full refund

160 days or more prior to departure:

  • Deposit is forfeit, all other payments fully refunded.

159 to 100 days prior to departure:

  • Deposit is forfeit, All other payments fully refunded minus a 10% cancellation fee.

99-31 days before departure:

  • Deposit is forfeit, All other payments fully refunded minus a 50% cancellation fee

30 days or less before departure:
 NO REFUNDS

When will I get my refund?

All refunds will be issued within 2-6 weeks.
